Virginia Distillery Company is an American Single Malt whisky distillery located amongst the Blue Ridge Mountains in beautiful Nelson County, Virginia.
Our current product, Virginia Highland-Whisky, is an aged malt whisky which is brought over from Scotland and married with whisky made on-site in Virginia. The whisky is then cask-finished in Virginia port-style wine barrels for an additional six to twelve months to add nuances of dried fruit, toffee and dark cocoa.
The Commonwealth Collection includes limited releases featuring our Virginia Highland-Whisky aged in cider and chardonnay casks from our Virginia partners.
Our America Single Malt is currently being produced on-site using malted barley from the UK and water from Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Ex-Bourbon, sherry and ex-wine casks are being used to age our American Single Malt. We expect to release this whisky in three to six years’ time from casking.
