After opening in 1989, Clear River soon became known as "the fun place in the middle of town" to visitors--as well as locals. The original floor and sky-high ceilings in the 1800's building add to the old-time charm of yesteryear, while "Grease" plays 24/7 on the TV.
There is plenty of seating and plenty of Elvis memorabilia to go around. And to ensure a memorable visit, all bakery items and ice cream is made in small batches by hand and served with an old fashioned smile.

It took two months for Dan Pfeiffer & friends to remodel this1890 butcher shop that didn't have a single square level wall or floor in the building's entire structure. The project required that six tons of concrete be busted out due to the sloped concrete floor that was 21’’ out of square. The prior purpose of the sloped floor was to allow the blood and water to run out of the building. Dan then built a sub floor out of 2×6 wolmanized wood to support an antique pine floor.
