Winery Mašanović has a very long tradition in producing wines and brandies (rakija). It's located in place where Montenegrin King Nikola owned his own vineyards and wine cellar. Situated in small town - Virpazar, in National park Skadar Lake, this winery has a very good position for guest visiting, since is located 500 meters form the center of Virpazar, on the main road which goes through Montenegro.
Since 1969. we're producing limited quantity of our products, preserving quality, because quality is priority and our mission. Rely on modern technology and traditional way of producing wine, wine is maturing in French-oak barrels, and all wines are barrique. This winery decided to produce only red top quality wines.
Vineyard is located in the biggest field in Crmnica, called Orahovo, 10 meters above the sea level. In the vineyard are planted six different grape varieties : Vranac (indigenous Montenegrin variety of grapes), Marselan, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Kratoshija. From those grape varieties are made many blends and separated wines. Beside the vineyard, in the ownership of this family is also more than 10.000m2 of property, where they're growing fruit from which are made brandies : Loza (traditional rakija), Kiwi, Pomegranate, Quince, Apple, Pear, Plum, Cornel berry and two liqueurs : Walnut and Cherry.
In process of growth, observance, harvest (by hands, every grape is selected), participate only 6 members of family, 3 generations, and for wine making we have a support from french technologists.
