Sazon Y Mambo, is a family style Puerto Rican Restaurant owned and fully operated by Alina Gutierrez and her Family. Ms. Gutierrez comes from a large Puerto Rican family, with strong ties to her culture and community. She has been part of 1691 Café Lounge since 2011 and is excited to introduce the first Puerto Rican family restaurant and lounge in the Bridgeport Connecticut area, Sazon Y Mambo.
Sazon Y Mambo is a great family friendly restaurant, featuring the most popular of Puerto Rican Cuisine. Its spacious venue invites you to celebrate any event, specializing in on and off premise catering, seated dinner, and of course, a magnificent nightlife. Ms. Gutierrez is incredibly excited to share her family’s culture and tradition through food and music, providing an experience of a lifetime!
Ms. Gutierrez is no stranger to Puerto Rican food and music. As a young Puerto Rican woman growing up, it is food and music that are the essence to keeping her culture strong,“ So often we gathered around delicious cuisine, telling stories, while Salsa played in the background; it was the glue that kept us all together, I’d love to bring that experience to Connecticut” says Gutierrez. The rich Puerto Rican culture, is the driving force behind the Gutierrez family, and is what encourages Ms. Alina to begin such a magnificent adventure with Sazon Y Mambo.
Ms. Gutierrez’s experience in the Real Estate industry provides her with the perfect combination of hospitality, and personality needed to successfully structure and run Sazon Y Mambo. Her Father, Basilio Gutierrez, too has been in the real estate business for many years, and will join his daughter Alina on this new venture. His strong passion for music and entertaining are his main focus with Sazon Y Mambo. Basilio is native to Puerto rico, and came to Bridgeport Connecticut at 18 years old, while in Bridgeport he enjoyed playing the “Congas” in the local bands. He and Alina are excited to begin this new journey together- spreading the Puerto Rican culture through food, music, and entertainment!
