A fully operational brewery and tap room, http://www.irwellworksbrewery.co.uk is situated in in the fabulous Bury town of Ramsbottom.
Housed in an old engineering works that was originally built in 1888, Irwell Works Brewery proudly draws on the history and heritage of this magnificent building and produces a range of eight beers, along with many limited edition brews, almost all with an engineering theme.
Brewing started back in November 2010, quickly followed by us collecting the 'overall winner' award with our 'Copper Plate' session bitter, at the Bury Beer Festival just one month later. The tap room was opened in August 2011 and the rest, as they say, is history!
As well as a friendly local we're also a popular stop off for beer lovers following the East Lancashire Railway 'Rail Ale Trail'. We host great live music nights each Thursday, featuring the likes of Celtic Brew and a variety of other bands and we've just started a series of 'Folk Nights', which are scheduled to take place each 1st and 3rd Wednesday (FREE admission).
