It is our goal to serve the world’s best coffee in an environment that is appealing and captivating: where one can catch up with friends, attend a meeting or simply pick up a coffee to go.
Great coffee begins with great coffee beans. Simply because someone claims to serve coffee made from “100% Arabica” beans, doesn’t mean it’s a “premium” product! At Arabica, coffee is not an incidental part of our business, coffee is our business. Coffee is what we do. We source only top-grade, varietals that are either independently certified or grown by farmers we trust. These beans reflect the uniqueness of their growing environment, the care of the farmers that produce them and the meticulous criteria we use to select only those coffees that meet our discerning flavour standards.
We import the finest green coffee beans from over 40 different countries including Brazil, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Kona (Hawaii), Sumatra, India, Papua New Guinea, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador, Columbia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
Then there is the quality to consider. The quality of the bean counts for nothing if you don’t roast it correctly. That’s because beans develop their aroma and flavour during the roasting process. The heat spurs complex chemical reactions in which proteins are broken down and aromatic oils (called coffee oils, or caffeol) are created. These water-soluble oils carry the flavours that you taste. Each varietal has its own unique roasting and flavour profile. By tailoring the roasting process to the bean with the ultimate control of a small batch drum roaster, we are able to bring out the unique qualities of every coffee, giving you the opportunity to discover a new flavour experience every time.
We currently roast over 15 million pounds of green coffee per year, and distribute blended and flavored coffee through our cafes and also under private labels. Arabica brings you quality, the way coffee is meant to be experienced, with flavour, body and aroma in perfect unison.
