We’d like to welcome you to The Mystic Mermaid, home of funky fresh food and spirits over the ocean in Boothbay Harbor. We believe that delicious food can be a pleasure without being a guilty one. Our location offers spectacular harbor views from every table, and our spacious deck sits literally over the ocean. Our bright and cheerful interior features original paintings by local artists, commissioned just for us. The Mystic Mermaid is Boothbay Harbor’s newest, freshest, and funkiest spot for casual, family-friendly dining and late-night entertainment.
We’ve developed a menu that should please anyone looking for healthy dining options (and the people that love them). You’ll find unique choices with bright, fresh flavors and ingredients you can feel good about. There are a few traditional crowd-pleasers and some more decadent selections as well. But most importantly, we want to serve food that tastes really, really good.
Many of our offerings are Gluten Free, including our crab cakes and even some fried options: we use rice flour on our handmade buttermilk chicken tenders, for example, and even have a dedicated wheat-free fryer. Most of our sandwich fillings are gluten free, and gluten free bread (and our sympathies) are available upon request.
Vegetarian offerings include our chunky, zesty gazpacho; refreshing quinoa salad; black bean burger with sriracha aioli; layered terrine of fresh roasted vegetables with goat cheese; and linguine with fresh spinach, chickpeas, and fire roasted tomatoes.
Seafood lovers and Pescatarians, prepare to be bewitched by our Sea Witch Scallops: succulent sea scallops seared in vanilla bean brown butter. You’re sure to delight in other seafood dishes like our one-of-a-kind Siren’s Shrimp and Scallop Ceviche with avocado, along with haddock, salmon, crabmeat, and lobster entrees that are sure to please.
If you’re trying to eat light but have worked up an appetite, make a meal of it by adding a protein (like scallops, shrimp, chicken, crabmeat, lobster, or steak) on top of one of our unique Salads with original dressings. Steak, burgers, and chicken are also available, each with our own special preparations you won’t find anywhere else. Even our French Fries are special, seasoned with smoked Maine sea salt.
We have a Kids Menu, and a Late-Night Menu featuring some of our lighter items as well as our signature up-loaded potato skins, and deep-fried Oreos (!) that can be enjoyed while you dance the night away.
