During World War 2 the NFL was so depleted of players that the Steelers were down to 6 players and the Eagles only had 16.
Art Rooney came up with the idea to merge Steelers & Eagles for one season (1943) to keep both teams from having to miss the season and possibly force the NFL to cancel the entire season. The Steagles went 5-4-1 and gave the eagles their first winning season and Pittsburgh their second winning season.
When you dine at Steagles we donate a % of our profits to the wounded soldiers. We believe in giving back to the brave people who give us the right to enjoy the true American way of life.
