On Saturday, September 9th, 2017, Hurricane Irma ripped through the Florida Keys, leaving total devastation in its wake.
Dawn McGill (an experienced chef), her fiancé, two children, and two cats abandoned their live-aboard sailboat and fled to her friend’s residence in Mooresville, North Carolina. To earn an income, Dawn put her genius culinary skills to work, and began baking pies, cakes, and other goodies in her friend’s kitchen, selling them through Facebook.
In an effort to start over, Dawn and family have decided to open their very own restaurant in Downtown Mooresville where the family will continue to recover from the effects of Hurricane Irma.
