All About Taste Nature's History
Taste Nature has a well-established reputation as ‘the organic shop’ in Dunedin. Despite major challenges over the years, Taste Nature has survived through the commitment of many dedicated people who have maintained the availability of a secure supply of certified organic food to the Otago community.
The shop was initially started in 1992 managed by Jim O'Gorman (aka Dirt Doctor) and traded as Silverpeaks Bay Products Ltd initially from Jim's garage and latterly from an old church in Dundas St and two locations in Lower Moray Place.

Our menu is inspired and created with fresh produce from the Otago region. Enter through the narrow doors and be greeted to a spacious warm environment that takes you away from the busy city life.
Our delicious cabinet food and locally roasted coffee is designed for our snack culture and those on the go, the perfect stop-off for a caffeine fix, carb refuel, health kick or sweet temptation.

Our kitchen team philosophy is to source the best ingredients, working closely with our suppliers and to treat the product with respect.
We try to use different techniques to highlight the flavour of each dish, and we are always testing new dishes that we’d like to showcase to our guests.

We opened in December 2014 and are proudly Dunedin's first café in the historic Warehouse Precinct.
At number 76 Vogel St, we have set up shop in the old McIndoe Printers building, built in 1890. Our amazing team of hard working builders have transformed it into a light filled character space which seats approximately 100 people.
