Based on ideas of sustainable development, U Cafe Hoi An supports organic farmers of Tra Que to provide Vietnamese-Japanese fusion dishes, as well as serving organic and fairtrade coffee brought directly from a coffee farmer in Dak Lak. The architecture - including its own waterlilly and goldfish ponds and septic tanks - is designed to minimize its impact on the environment. The cafe supports women of Hoi An/Quang Nam/Da Nang through vocational and language training, and works with local NGOs and charity organizations to provide bikes for schoolchildren in poverty.
