Tea,Toast, & Things was a dream for after retirement of Roger and Myrna Gillespie . The original idea was to open a furniture and antique store but as the idea progressed, the good people of Dexter convinced us they truly needed a cafe as well. We felt that would be a good idea as a draw for the retail store.
We found the perfect location on a busy road going into Dexter. After 4 long, hard months of renovating the building ourselves, we have a beautiful location and are building a good clientele from all of the surrounding towns as well as Dexter.
The cafe specialty is pressed Cuban sandwiches which I brought from my roots in Tampa. Not many people knew what they were but they have quickly have become a favorite!
Living and working in a small town with a lot of wonderful folks has been a blessing that not many get to enjoy. We hope to see the business grow so we can expand and employ more people.
