Meet the Chocolatiers

Cyril Borie & Nicolas Bateau. Born in Bayonne, the chocolate capital of France, situated in the Basque country.

Cyril
Trained as a pastry chef at Nicolas's parents’ bakery and mastered his skill in many pastry shops across France. Driven by his passion for pastry and taste for chocolate, he trained as a chocolatier at the famous Basque Chocolatier Puyodebat, after which he then travelled around the globe.

Nicolas
Trained as a chef in Saint Jean de Luz in the Basque country but has always had a preference for pastry. He mastered the art of creating fine dining experiences and moved to Ireland. Passionate about food and travelling, Nicolas has also worked in Canada and Australia.

With their common love of food and adventure, Cyril and Nicolas decided to create a chocolate business together. Located in a brand new state-of-the-art kitchen at the K Club, L’Art du Chocolat design and create beautiful pieces of art made from the highest quality chocolate.
