In 1727 at the age of only 21 years old, Benjamin Franklin formed a club with a half-dozen acquaintances who held a wide variety of occupations, interests and beliefs. He called the group the Junto (pronounced ‘Jun-toe’). Ben formed the group in the interest of mutual improvement for each member, as well as for the benefit of the community as a whole.They gathered on Friday's, drank wine, and discussed a variety of topics ranging from Self-Improvement to Politics to Philosophy.
