The pub's history dates back as far as 1851, serving as the heart of the local rural community. Throughout history it has been run by families and it has served as the headquarters for numerous local businesses and crafts. A recent refurbishment has been welcomed, seeing a rise in guests from nearby towns including Upton, Arne and the idyllic Lytchett Bay. A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Our coffee is roasted ethically using our recycled grounds in nearby Shaftesbury, our standard cuppa is Dorset tea (what else!) and we purchase our free range eggs and various other goods from quality local purveyors.
