The Sheffield family operates the Hammerhead Beach Bar, a well established local haunt that caters to a wide variety of clientele. The Sheffield family views this new venture as a challenge and an opportunity to improve and preserve this local landmark. The Sheffield's own and operate the Palace Saloon, Florida's oldest bar, located in downtown Fernandina Beach and are downtown residents residing in the historic Bailey House.
Hammerhead Beach Bar was opened in March of 1986 by Lowell and Sharon Hall and has been a local watering hole and entertainment hot spot under many names and owners dating back to the early forties. It was one of the first businesses located at this area of the beach and has developed a loyal following of patrons over the generations.
Locals and visitors can expect to see improvements soon including the addition of audio and visual enhancements of sporting and entertainment events, local discount cards, outdoor seating, fine tobaccos, additional billiard tables and a larger selection of craft and premium beers. The Hammerhead Beach Bar will continue to serve you from 10am until 2am 365 days a year.
Hammerhead Beach Bar is full of local Fernandina nostalgia and will add to this atmosphere by asking locals to donate old photographs of the building or photographs from inside the bar from years past to become a permanent part of the Bar. If you have a piece of nostalgia you would like to become a part of this landmark, please drop it off anytime this week.
