The Golden Ball is York's first community pub, based the in heart of Bishophill just inside the city walls.
The Golden Ball Open Mic is known as York's most ecletive open mic with a pint for every performer. We promise an awesome evening of music, spoken word, poetry, juggling and dancing and even a bit of stand up comedy, in your favourite community pub.
Our Tuesday Pub Quiz is a laughter packed night from 9pm, hosted by the brilliant Jack Weatherall. With the best bingo call outs and live performance 'name that song' round sung by Jack himself, get down The Ball on a Tuesday early for a seat and a chance to win beer!
Every 2nd Wednesday is your chance to participate in the monthly Speakers Corner night, www.yorkspeakerscorner.webs.com or alternatively come down and celebrate the fact it's Wednesday, two days to go til weekend!
Thursday is our Live Music night from 9pm, with a massive range of acts. See Facebook events for current gigs, and make sure you don't miss the 1st Thursday of each month when Blue Saloon play amazing live rock blues in the bar.
Fridays at The Golden Ball are packed to the rafters, come in and join the buzz, sit out in the beer garden and start the weekend with us.
Saturdays see fresh free range eggs delivered straight from the farm and still warm hand made bread from Al at Blue Bird Bakery around the corner. We are open from 12 noon so there is plenty of time to get some Saturday shopping and have a few pints!
Soul Provision is held on the last Saturday of each month and is hosted by ace DJ Jonny Crawshaw, a brilliant night of soul, R&B, jazz, reggae and funk, and amazing real ales of course!
