Espwesso is an entirely student run, sustainability-focused specialty coffee shop on the Wesleyan campus located in the basement of the Allbritton Center.

Espwesso: Wesleyan's Student Run Cafe

Founded by a dedicated group of students in 2011, we are self-sustaining, student-run café offering the only artisan coffee available on campus. By providing affordable specialty drip coffee and espresso drinks, we seek to educate the campus and surrounding Middletown community about socially and environmentally sustainable coffee practices and raise the bar for coffee quality at Wesleyan.

Our beans come from New Harvest Coffee Roasters in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Their Source Direct model for coffee trading means that they establish relationships with coffee farmers in Central and South America, Africa and East Asia to choose the highest quality coffee and pay the farmers directly, generally thirty to fifty percent above the fair trade minimum.

Our milk comes from Wildowsky Dairy in Lisbon, CT (about 45 minutes away from campus). We like to drop in on their stunning cows, take facility tours with Randy, and sample a lot of their ice cream.
