Black Star Line Brewing Company is the first Black Queer Woman owned brewery in Hendersonville, NC.
Mission/Vision
Our mission is to establish a sustainable brewery that offers outstanding artisanal craft beers/specialty beverages, creates job training/economic opportunities for marginalized, disenfranchised residents of the Asheville area, and to provide social justice education for all. Our vision is to build a movement that creates opportunities for marginalized, disenfranchised people in the Asheville area for empowerment and liberation through collective economics.
Goals:
To create a world class name in the craft brewing world for excellent artisanal craft beers
Social justice education through popular education, community organizing, public narrative and the "living room for social justice"
Financial and economic liberation for Black and Brown people
To be the first Black queer owned, cooperative/ESOP craft brewery in the world
To make a distinct impact in the way that craft beers are manufactured and sold
To create an employment pipeline of job ready and certified minorities who are seeking employment in the craft brewing industry. Thusly, creating a job training and job readiness program.
To be Asheville’s first and only, exclusive, Pulque bar and tasting room
To launch a movement for Black, Brown, and red people to participate in a cultural and economic renaissance - moving people from disenfranchisement and generational poverty to economic empowerment, liberation, community organizing, and liberation
Create pathways to economic and financial freedom by revitalizing the agricultural industry
