Modeled to look like an Italian train station, VILLAGIO, meaning “village” in Italian, is located on historic Main Street, in the old Buckley Brother’s store (built circa 1900), just steps away from the active Norfolk-Southern rail line.
Much has changed since Buckley Brothers’, once the largest store between Alexandria and Front Royal, advertised “everything from a pin to a plow”.
VILLAGIO now sits comfortably on the ground floor in the space that fabulously legendary restaurant, Heart In Hand, once occupied. The Silva family opened VILLAGIO in Fall-2013 and it is becoming a buzzing neighborhood hot spot for everyone ranging from foodies, to local college students and families to everyone in between.
VILLAGIO has combined the elegance of an Italian trattoria with the fun of a crowded Italian train station. Open daily, VILLAGIO is perfect for a quick snack, a lingering meal, a big group, a family night out or even a large social gathering.
With marble-topped standing tables, the trattoria area is great for meeting new people and for grabbing drinks and antipasti with a group of friends. The classic dining room seats over 100 guests and the lively music and cool vibe bring everyone a smile from their first bite of salumi or brick oven pizza to the last spoonful of fresh-homemade pasta.
