Bakery, Café and Local Fares shop. Soon to be open in Vankleek Hill, Ontario. As organic as possible and as local as possible. We intend to have a positive impact on the community by giving back to local organisations and charities.
Hello my name is Brigitte. I am the owner of this new endeavour: The Pantry.
This project was born from the desire to have a positive impact in our wonderful little community. We want to showcase local artisans and flavours and support our precious local creators. Hence, The Pantry was created. This is a collaborative effort where many of your local favourite producers will be creating delicious as well as beautiful things.
We hope to be a cheerful meeting place where, to quote a famous tv show from the 80-90s: ''everybody knows your name'' :) .
As a local homesteader and farmer, I am a steadfast supporter of local and organic therefore The Pantry's goals are to use as local as possible and as organic as possible in the treats that will be carried in the store.
Some of our partners include Produits Petit Brûlé, Bernie's Greens, Meadowlark Rise farm, McCaig Honey, Lambros Quality Products, Antidote bath products, Café Aladdin, Moulin Des Cèdres, Baked on the Hill, Seeds of a Feather and we are adding new partnerships every week!
This business which I will run with the help of my kids, my spouse and my dear friends intends to be a shining light in the community, by giving back to the community through different charities and local events.
Our kitchen, that is coming together nicely, is NOW certified ( yay!) and inspected. We have several tables to sit and enjoy a cup of locally roasted coffee and a in house baked treat made with only the best ingredients. We are still working on a terrace ( however we offer a couple of picnic tables in the meantime) and now have a wheelchair accessible ramp in the back. The upstairs is mostly reserved for administration and storage, but we do have a nice big room that will be available for meetings,classes and special events.
Please note that we are closed Sundays though Tuesdays in order to bake our yummy treats and to enable us to go shopping for the ingredients. We also manage a farm that supplies a portion of the vegetables used at The Pantry.
