Hadyn Hilton at the age of 24, opened Java Cats because she wanted to help both cats and people in her city that didn’t have homes. She started by partnering with The Gathering, an organization that uses the proceeds for its box lunches to help homeless people get restaurant jobs. She also set up a location in historic Grant Park where visitors could pay an hourly rate to enjoy Ebrik coffee and be surrounded by adoptable cats. Now, everything’s come together, and we’re excited that we get to give back to our wonderful community. 1.) Can I bring my own cat?
No, because we have so adoptable ones for you to love on! Our goal is to adopt out as many kitties as possible!😽😻
2.) How do I make a reservation?

3.) I never received my newsletter discount? Can I use it on a reservation?
We send out a mewsletter once a month for now, so if you haven't received the discount it's coming! Also, the discount is good for beverages or snacks- we are working on a code you can apply to reservations online.
4.) Are kids allowed?
Absolutely. There is not a age restriction, however a adult MUST be with children at all times in the lounge. Admission for 10 years and under is $5. We use to allow the first child free, but we had guests make reservations for 2, 3, 4, free kids and then the lounge would be overbooked without us knowing because of the loophole we recently discovered! 😱😰😭
5.) Can you take my cat?
This is probably the MOST asked question and the answer is no. We are not able to take in cats at Java Cats. Every cat we have in our lounge is vetted by Paws to ensure every cat is up to date on shots, fixed, and microchipped so they can be adopted. We aren't the shelter, we are a foster for the shelter we work with, which is the fabulous Paws Atlanta. 😸
6.) Do you need a reservation?
Honestly, yes. Reservations are the only way you can guarantee a spot in the lounge and we fill up crazy fast, especially on the weekends. We do reservations so the lounge is not overcrowded. Also- important- anytime the lounge is overcrowded it is ONLY because someone doesn't know about the reservation system, comes to the café, gets angry with us for not knowing, and we sometimes let them in so they don't make us cry out of their wrath. (Kinda kidding 🙃...only kinda) This is unfortunate, but we have had people drive several hours to get to Java Cats and we have let them in on the rare occasion. We do our absolute best to inform everyone about the reservation system before coming in, because we never want to turn anyone down, so pleassssse make a reso before coming in so your experience with us is so ameowzing!!!!!!! 😍
7.) Do you need a reservation for the café side?
Not at all! We LOVE for people to come in just for coffee and to watch the cats through our windows! We designed our café in such a way that patrons can enjoy watching the kitties without being in the cat lounge. This also works for people who love cats, but are allergic! We got chu! 🤗 So definitely come visit us for some Radio Roasters coffee or some Rishi organic tea- we have a strong coffee game!
8.) Why are the cats seperate?
Due to INCREDIBLY STRICT regulations, the cats must be seperate. Georgia laws make us seperate the cats from the café area.
