ShareShop Chester

Northgate Street, Chester, United Kingdom     Coffee Shop, Shopping & Retail, Charity Organization

SHARE’S aims are simple - we support families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire and we assist refugees fleeing for their lives, wherever they are in the world. In September 2015, the harrowing photograph of the tiny body of three-year-old Alyun Kurdi, washed up on a beach in the Mediterranean, spurred four local mums from the Mold area to ‘do something’ to make a difference to people fleeing for their lives from war torn Syria and Iraq. They joined forces with a Chester based businessman and it was then that SHARE was born. Within weeks they were joined b...

The Grosvenor Arms

Chester Road, Aldford, Chester, United Kingdom     British Restaurant, Beer Garden, Gastropub

The Grosvenor is a large, rather austere Victorian governess of a building which looks a little ungainly from the road side, but from the garden side it’s a delight of higgledy-piggledy roof lines and soft, warm Cheshire common brick. This is a charming pub with well-spaced rooms and a great outside terrace leading into a small but very pleasing garden, which in turn leads onto the village green. The locals are very fond of it.
