A traditional British tearoom & gift shop housed in a beautiful Grade II listed building, in the heart of Barnard Castle’s Market Place.
Clarendon's is owned by local business women, Clare Dixon, it's the perfect place to meet friends or while away your time with a good book or newspaper. Decorated in calming grey Farrow & Ball tones with Lloyd Loom of Spalding furniture, the tearoom offers a contemporary twist on a traditional tearoom whilst maintaining a classical and elegant atmosphere.
Enjoy a mouth-watering breakfast, delicious lunch or experience the luxury of a traditional afternoon tea – you will not be disappointed! They have an extensive range of Taylor’s of Harrogate loose leaf teas and Pumphrey’s freshly ground coffee – their scones and delicious homemade cakes are the perfect partner for a morning or afternoon treat. Clarendon’s has a full breakfast and lunch menu with daily specials as well as a dedicated children’s menu. All their produce is locally sourced and they endeavour to cater for all dietary requirements – just ask.
Clarendon’s gift shop is situated on the first floor. Stocking exclusive brands such as Wikholme, Charles Farris & Harrogate Candles and Diffusers and Tutti Jewellery.
