The UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) is a collaboration effort between the Malaysian Government and the Spanish Government. It is a project developed by MARA as an advanced technical institute to provide courses in the field of automotive manufacturing industry. UniKL MSI (formerly known as Malaysian Spanish Institute) started its operation at the temporary campus at Techno Center, Kulim Hi-Tech Park in August 2002 and moved to the main campus built on a piece of land approximately 39 acres, also in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kulim Kedah in December 2003 .
UniKL MSI is established in response to the rapidly increasing demands of the industry for skilled professionals and to incorporate the most advanced technology in Automotive Engineering. The training programmes are taught in 5 specialties based on a combinationof theoretical training and practical application in UniKL MSI, supported by a period of complementary practise in companies using similar technology. Training in English will be given for a period of 3 years.
