Established in 1971, Lake George Winery is home to a suite of crafted cool-climate wines on the north-western shores of the spectacularly unique Lake George in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales. Incorporating the westering restaurant and function facility, Lake George Winery is the perfect setting for weddings, corporate functions or private events. Located 30 minutes from Canberra and 2½ hours from Sydney, Lake George Winery provides an idyllic retreat to indulge in the cool-climate air and fine wine and food.
Lake George Winery’s shale based soils consist of alluvial outwash from the nearby Cullarin Range, and loose gravel embankments created over millennia by the wave action of Lake George. Established in 1971, the vineyard has an optimal easterly aspect, and late afternoon sea breezes moderate heat during the growing season. Lake George Winery’s wines are made with minimal interference, allowing full expression of the character of the vineyard.
