Kountry Korner Cafe

Betty is principal of the Old School and the Kountry Korner Cafe is the classroom. You find more Gallatin County flavor in the food, the customers and staff then you'll find in most history books.

Kountry Korner Cafe

Betty Nason opened the Kountry Korner Café in 1978 following two successful ventures in town; the Butcher Boy In & Out (located across from the High School in what’s now the Arby’s parking lot) and the Drover Café (later became Boodles Restaurant and was lost in the 2009 downtown explosion).

The Kountry Korner was originally located on the NW corner of 4 Corners where the Town Pump gas station is today. What started modestly as a little chicken & rib shop grew, through the support of many, into a full service three meal anchor of the 4 Corners community. The move to its current location was accomplished with time equipment and muscle of our customers. They showed up after breakfast, loaded the grills, stoves and coolers onto flatbed hay trailers and moved everything to the new building … Betty was open the next day for breakfast.

The Kountry Korner Café has long been known for its breakfasts and features a weekend breakfast buffet. The restaurant is becoming increasingly identified for its dinner and entertainment menu. The Kountry Korner Café provides a home-style atmosphere and an expansive menu ranging from the best broasted chicken and chicken fried steaks served in the Valley to the more exotic fair of our five star chef; Joshua Cantrell. (Based on our internal polling, we also claim to serve the best Prime Rib in the Valley, in Canada, in Germany and in Italy. We’ll serve a few more before we stake our claim to BEST PRIME RIB IN THE WORLD)

The Kountry Korner provides an intimate venue for local musicians on Tuesday and Sunday evenings boasting performances of many of the areas finest artists. The entertainment lineup includes Kostas whose accolades include songwriter of the year and multiple #1 songs and (just turned) 15 year old Courtney Yovich playing on alternate Sundays evenings and Rich Mayo who’s played for Betty for more than 10 years for the Tuesday chicken & rib buffet. In addition to the three scheduled regulars we’ve enjoyed performances from a long list of local and not so local artists.

The Kountry Korner Café is just one of those special places … and, for no good reason, you know it the second you walk through the door.
