Anne’s Donuts was founded by Anne Winstead in 1953. Anne had worked for a local bakery and took interest in opening her own shop. They specialized in donuts made the old fashioned way, with fresh dough deep fried in vegetable oil for a warm crispy melt in your mouth donut. Located along the scenic Tar River, BDD Brewing Company was founded by cousins Chazz Oesch and Matt Nichols. It all started when Matt graduated from Virginia Tech with a finance degree. Their entire extended family gathered in the mountain town of Blacksburg, Virginia to celebrate Matt's accomplishment.
