In 1956 Joseph Gerard and his wife Margaret purchased from William Lott a small liquor store on Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant at the foot of the Lovelandtown Bridge. Mr. Gerard who owned the Blue Front Market in Seaside Park bought the store as an investment and future business venture for his son and son-in-law who were both recently discharged from the armed service.
