Our name is borrowed from the swedish "Dala horse". A small meticulously hand carved and painted figure typically done by the men of the house for their children during times of war or other lengthy absence from there families. The "Dala horse" has been a big part of Josh's life, beginning as a kid. It represents painstaking craftsmanship, beauty and most importantly family. Dalahast (pronounced Dolla Hest) is a small batch roastery. Taking freshly picked "green" coffee beans and bringing them to their full potential. These "green" beans are roasted one small batch at a time, to ensure every detail of the recipe is followed to a T. Additionally, Josh (our roaster) has a computer attached to the machine to make doubly sure that all variables and requirements are met for each batch, giving you consistency in each bag.
