Scalliwaggs is a Cafe and Gift Store located in my hometown of New Perlican. The name comes from a "rascal" type term my Grandmother Hannah Legge called us all as kids when we'd be getting into mischief. My Grandmother was a huge influence on my life and I wanted to hold her dear to me with the name of my business. Opening my own business was a lifetime dream of mine and after working and living in Alberta for several years with a family of 3, age 9 to 18 my husband Jeff and I made the move "home" and I began to plan my business; opening in April, 2016. True to it's Newfoundland roots Scalliwaggs offers a small daily menu of traditional Newfoundland "grub".
